Swine Flu: My Theory Vide
PostSubject: Swine Flu: My Theory   Swine Flu: My Theory Icon_minitimeWed Nov 18, 2009 6:37 pm

Eh, I'm not a big believer that the swine flu is the "killer flu" that the media makes it out to be, of course I won't go as far as saying that this is a regular flu. However I just think that this thing has been completely blown out of proportions. I think I have a theory as to why some people might react so severely when catching the swine flu: stress.

The media has made seem as if the h1n1 virus is this deadly monster that'll kill you. They focus on the deaths, the complications, and all the negative things. What happens then? When someone gets it, and after hearing all that they've heard in the news, they stress out! Everyone knows that stress compromises your immune system, so what’s going to happen to those that have bought into all the fear reports on the news that happens to contract the h1n1 virus? They are most likely going to have complications.

So I'm wondering... if maybe things wouldn't be so bad if the media had simply warned people and left it at that. I wish that someone would do a comparative study between two groups of people that have the h1n1 flu, one group that knew that they had the swine flu and another group that thought it was a common cold. Do you think there would be any differences? Rolling Eyes

I think the media blows it out but I don't think its a bad thing because it makes people aware more to wash hands and stay cleaner and not spread germs. Some people are so inconsiderate and feel that because they are sick they should pass it on. If people believe its a killer, then they are most likely to watch and be more respectful. Just my opinion though.

Here people are rude enough. One lady a few years back sneezed on me. I really hate to say this but I seen some crazy things, mostly with our new generation of teenagers. I really am scared for our future, if things keep going down hill as I seen...then our world will crumble.

making sure to prevent getting the flu the best you can is important..but the way the media portrays it is terrible. using scare tactics and blowing it up to be bigger than it is, is just a way for more viewers every night for the news. people tend to watch the news more because of the suspense..but there is never anything really positive or happy on the news unfortunately.

Yes very rarely is there something uplifting in the news. I'm hating all the gossip there is right now about Tiger woods and stuff. But seriously almost every day swine flu, swine flu, swine flu...gets kind of tiring Rolling Eyes

I root against them, so I don't have to hear it on news...that's seriously the first thing they talk about....and mostly all they talk about. There isn't any "real" news anymore...breaking news or crime is all way at end of segment. lol I just convinced myself to email them complaning! XD

There are two types of viruses, with one being DNA virus and the other being RNA virus. The DNA virus copies itself repeatedly, where the RNA (ribonucleic acid) virus does not have to replicate itself. It can mutate to attack a new host very easily, which is what H1N1 has done. This makes it difficult to formulate an effective vaccine and explains why it can adapt to multiple species. This particular virus does not appear to produce any more fatalities than a normal seasonal virus, but there have been those like it in the past that have been devastating. The scariest part of an RNA virus is that world travel has increased so much since the last one (1918) and if a virulent strain were to come about (one eventually will) there could be millions dead before an effective vaccine could be made.

In a TV documentry / Investigative report recently a disturbing theory was talking about.

They called it "Thinning the Herd".

The show was called: Secret Societies and it was on True TV.
