if saw this site whilst researching training and handling techniques for such animals, i have come across a fantastic site full of information. the content is extensive and well laid out in a menu on the left hand side of the page covering all sorts of issues including handling, approaching, training, grooming and nurturing a fearful dog. in particular it points out that many rescue dogs become fearful after a long stay in a shelter waiting for a new home and the consequences this may have on the dog's mental health. a great site for those who rescue and those who just have a nervous, fearful dog. go to www.fearfuldogs.com

Oh yes, Fearfuldogs.com is an excellent site! I had a brief chat with the owner via email I like that the information is up to date as well and has many other links to good references. Definitely worth the reading!

I've never heard of this site but it does seem to be quite great. It is important to know how to treat and train fearful dogs.
