Okay, I am going to rant a little. I went to the animal shelter to apply to voulenteer (They now have a rule you have to be 18 to voulenteer, Luckly I am =P) anyway, this guy comes in with this doberman mix and says he is returning the dog. Why?!?? BECAUSE THE DOG DON'T KNOW ITS NAME!!! Well the dog started jumping on me, and I taught the dog "down" and it was very friendly, egger to learn. Just a puppy I could tell. I was petting the dog, he was licking me. So I go the guy and tell him about Star not knowing his name at first and it takes patience and understanding and you have to give the dog more than a week to learn its new name. (Yeah this morone only owned the dog a week.) I tried giving him advice and he totally ignored me! He gave me a little bit of attitude towards my advice and told the lady to take the dumb dog back and she said she couldn't they were filled and he would need to give a 30 day notice and she would clear space for him...and then he goes i'll just dumb him out somwehere along the road.
All that dog needed was some love, patience and understanding and he would quickly learn. I was appaulled to see any adult to act/treat an animal that way. I wouldn't be suprised if he hit the dog and thats why the dog wouldn't understand the name. The lady said he can't throw the dog out, to give her a week to clear some space. So I feel so bad for the dog who has to spend another week with that guy. Ugh people, he should go adopt a pet rock and beat it around!!
