Yesterday I left my 4 1/2 month old puppy at doggy day care. Today when I took her to the park and she pooped , I noticed several pebbles in her poop. I called the emergency vet service since my regular vet closes early on Saturday. Anyway, the vet told me to look out for certain symptoms which were lethargy, vomiting(very serious), diarrhea, and lack of appetite. Right now , she is not experiencing any of these symptoms. He told me not to worry ecause they would probably all eventually pass. Even tonight she was still pooping them. I am scheduled to take her to the vet Monday because she has a UTI (yet another issue.) My question is should I ask for an xray to be taken just to be sure she has passed all of the pebbles?

Yes, that's definitely a great idea. You should have her abdomen x-ray because pebbles stuck inside can cause serious damage. Does the dog have problem urinating?

Well I have an update. On Sunday night she started yelping for no reason so I got really frightened and brought her to the emergency room. They xrayed her and they didn't see anymore pebbles in her stomach. She thought the yelping might be due to the UTI since she kept licking down there. I brought her for the urine sample on Monday and left her there for them to observe her and she didn't yelp. Though occasionally she does still yelp. I'm wondering if the yelping might be because of teething? The person at the vet said it might be because of irritation leftover from the pebbles. My husband called the doggie day care and they admitted they had stones in the run but they didn't return our money or anything. My friend said I should report them to BBB. Anyway, I am awaiting the results of the urine culture. I was also told they won't spay or neuter an animal with an infection and I am afraid she will go into heat. The vet said the rate of breast cancer increases with each heat. I am so depressed

I forgot , she doesn't appear to have a problem urinating. But sometimes it seems like nothing or very little comes out.

Sorry to hear that your pup isn't doing so well. It sounds like it could be a UTI, if it is they will most likely give you antibiotics for it. I don't really think that the yelping could be because of teething. They usually chew on things to sooth teething pains.

Don't worry I don't think she'll go in to heat right away, and even if she doesn't don't fret about the breast cancer thing, its never a 'for sure' thing.

Please keep us updated.
