If you know the breed, they have beautiful soft hair. But the undercoat is thick and matts very easily. So I took him to be groomed yesterday and they had to remove all of it. I am heartbroken. I know it will grow back but it just doesn't look like him

Sorry to hear about the matting, some of these long coated pups you have to stay on top of brushing, my chow's fur mats but not that easily yet its still good to brush him regularly to help make it soft and clean.
