I have a 12 year old jack russell. Periodically throughout her life she has had bouts of "itchiness". She scratch her back on the bottom of the coffee table or whatever else she can fit under. Typically we give her a bath with some mild shampoo for dogs, like oatmeal or one specifically geared towards dry, itchy skin. Typically this resolves within a week or two. This time however, she has not seen any relief and in fact has itched herself raw on the backs of her legs. I have also tried "hotspots" spray on her and she sees no relief. Has anybody experienced this with and what remedies would you suggest I try?

A friend's dog had issues a few months ago and it turned out to be an allergy to something she was eating.
