Ever had to deal with E-Collars? I know I have, when Jr. gets hotspots, I have to put one on him so that he doesn't chew on it. I definitely don't like them and Jr. doesn't like them, but I was reading an article about an alternative for the e collar.

The alternative is called a Pro Collar, full name ProCollar Premium Inflatable Protective Collar. They are available at supply stores and some vet clinics. Its definitely a good idea to consider seeing if this might work for your dog if you have had too much trouble with e collars before. Although as with most everything, this isn't good for all dogs. Nor is it a good idea to use if if the area you don't want the dog (or cat) to touch is on his/her head, as they can easily scratch it with their paws. Also some dogs might be able to wiggle themselves out of these.

I've never had to..but my parents have. interesting info on this alternative one!

Ive had to use the Eliz collar in the past and had no real issues, but I like the looks of the Inflatable Collar. I can see some uses for it, but agree that it may not be the best choice for some injuries. I think Patchs could and would tear it up.

Thats good that you've never had to use one, they are quite the hassel...at least it is with my pooch, he almost broke the one we bought for him!
