What does that mean to you personally? To rehabilitate a dog....

I was just thinking about this yesterday.... and thought that there is more to rehabilitating a dog than to simply stop a problem behavior. So what do you think it fully entails?

To rehabilitate a dog ...

1). Redirect an action or behavior from bad to good.
2). Teach the dog owner(s) the proper way to interact with the dog.
3). Set up a daily plan to keep the dog's behavior positive.

When I think of rehabilitating a dog, I picture one that was unsocialized, often kept on a chain with minimal interaction with humans and other animals. It can take a year or more of vaccilating between fear, aggression and neediness before you begin to see a stable dog. Patience is the one word that I think of when rehabbing.
