Dogs love to dig. Give them an approved place to do it if possible. I put in a sandbox about 15 years ago and have never had a problem with the dogs digging in the yard since.

Well there are a few innovative ideas out there for digging solutions! I've heard of the sandbox idea as well, and provided that you teach your dog where it is right and where it is wrong to dig, it should be a great help.

Other ideas? Putting physical barriers such as pebbles, bricks, chicken wire, etc to make it physically impossible to dig.

Also, since dogs tend to avoid their 'doody', sometimes putting feces in the hole and covering it up will deter some.

I have a few other ideas here: http://k9domain.org/problems.aspx

You yourself having trouble with digging? Wink

Ya it would be good to know what you've tried so far and what things you've notice any improvement with?

It would also be very helpful to know your thoughts on the origin of the problem. (aka why do YOU think the dog is digging)
