* predators are essential to any ecosystem * nobody would have predicted 90% of the benefits of wolves returning - - cutthroat trout were the earliest beneficiaries - beaver are rebounding - WATER is more consistently available
the cattle-ranchers and the hunters are the ones who are seriously unhappy; unfortunately, they are powerful politically.
- opinion - i can only hope we FINALLY learned that Nature is better at running the ecos than we are at micromanaging it.
